Bagman privacy policy

Effective 4 November 2026

Bagman is a bills planner for Android, made by Unagi Dev ("we"), a sole trader based in New Zealand. This page explains what happens to your information when you use it. The short version: it stays on your phone.

What Bagman stores

The bills, amounts, dates, pay details, balances and settings you enter are saved only in the app's private storage on your device. We don't have servers that receive them, and there's no account to sign in to.

When Bagman goes online

If you have a bill in another currency, Bagman downloads public exchange rates from the Frankfurter service (frankfurter.dev), which publishes European Central Bank reference rates. The request asks for rates for a fixed list of currencies and contains none of your information. Like any website, that service can see the network address the request comes from.

When it starts, Bagman checks for app updates using Shorebird (shorebird.dev). The check sends the app's version, your device's platform and processor type, and a random ID created when the app is installed. That ID isn't an advertising ID and is only used to count active installs. Bagman also reports whether an update installed, with a short error message if it failed. None of your bills or details are included. Shorebird's servers can also see the network address the request comes from.

If you buy the unlock, Google Play handles the payment and we never see your payment details. Bagman asks Google Play whether your Google account has bought the unlock, and remembers the answer on your device. Google's own privacy policy covers that purchase.

Bagman makes no other network requests.

Notifications

Payday reminders are scheduled on your device by Android. They aren't sent through any server.

Backups

If you choose "Save a backup file", Bagman writes a file to the place you pick, such as Google Drive or your Downloads folder. Where it goes from there is up to you. Android may also include app data in your device's own Google backup, if you have that turned on in your phone's settings.

What we don't do

Children

Bagman is meant for adults managing their own bills and isn't directed at children.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling Bagman, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes everything it stored on your phone. Backup files you saved yourself stay where you put them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
